Kaplan International College Adelaide provides a safe campus community and has partnered with Sonder to provide students additional 24/7 safety and wellbeing services, free of charge.

Sonder

What is Sonder?

Sonder is a 24/7 personal safety and wellbeing service available via phone and live chat, with in-person assistance if you need it.

How do I use it?

The Sonder app has 4 key features you can use at any time. These are:

 

Track my journey

Ever felt unsafe leaving campus at night? Do you worry about visiting a place for the first time? Sonder’s ‘Track my journey’ feature can help you stay safe and comfortable during your trip. Enter your destination and mode of travel and the Sonder Support Centre will monitor you every step of the way until you have safely reached your destination.

 

Check on me

Going for a run at night? Going on a date with someone you have never met? Buying something off Facebook marketplace from someone you have never met? Most of the time there is nothing to worry about, but Sonder’s ‘Check on me’ feature gives you confidence in these moments. Use the app to set a time you’d like Sonder to touch base with you and ensure you’re safe at all times.

 

Safety notifications

In the rare event of a security or safety incident occurring in your area, Sonder uses the latest geolocation technology to notify you and make sure everything is OK. Whether it is bushfires, police operations, weather events or public order disruptions, Sonder provides round the clock monitoring by real people to send out alerts in real-time.

 

24/7 support

Sonder’s Support Centre is available 24/7 via phone and live chat. If you’re ever feeling uncomfortable, sick or injured or stressed; Sonder’s 24/7 multilingual support team assists you via live chat or the phone and will send in-person help if you need it.

When do I use Sonder?

Use Sonder whenever you feel concerned or unsure about a situation, like if you’re:

  • Walking alone at night

  • Buying or selling to strangers

  • On a first date

  • Sick or injured

  • Feeling stressed, anxious, lonely and don’t know who to turn to

This is awesome! How do I get it?

Simple! On your mobile visit your preferred app store and download the Sonder app. Use your student email to sign up and you’ll be able to use the app free of charge during your time both at the College and the University.
