Welcome to Adelaide.

Ranked the 9th most liveable city in the world by the Global Liveability Index in 2025, Adelaide offers world-class education, a vibrant culture, a relaxed lifestyle and stunning landscapes all in one affordable and accessible location.

Life in Adelaide

Easy to get around

Adelaide is the first and only planned ‘city in a park’ where hectares of lush, green parks and gardens (Park Lands) surround the CBD. Adelaide is compact, easy to navigate and often referred to as the ‘20-minute city’ because you can access many attractions within a short period of time.

Inner-city transport services such as tram and bus services are free. There are marked cycling lanes throughout the city and many beautiful nature trails.

Safe and affordable

Being one of the Top 10 most liveable cities in the world, Adelaide has a good safety record. Living costs including public transport, rent and food are lower than other major Australian cities. Students can enjoy discounts on transport, museum entry, food and entertainment.

Diverse communities

One in five South Australians are born overseas, creating a wonderful mix of cultures and influences. Adelaide’s diverse population is reflected in its international cuisine, cultural events and community hubs.

Food and wine

Adelaide is regarded as the food and wine capital of Australia with 13 wine regions and a higher ratio of cafes and restaurants to residents than any other state in Australia. There are cool bars, cosy pubs, international cuisine and award-winning eateries.

Visit Adelaide Central Markets, one of the largest undercover markets in the Southern Hemisphere, to explore hundreds of stalls packed with fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses and sweets. Outside the city, you can explore wine regions such as the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale and Clare Valley or head to the Adelaide Hills to visit quaint villages and sample gourmet produce.

Festivals, Culture, Entertainment and Sports

Adelaide is known as the festival city and there’s always an event on. Major festivals include WOMADelaide, Adelaide Festival, Illuminate Adelaide, Adelaide Fringe, OzAsia and IndoFest.

Adelaide has many great art galleries such as the Art Gallery of South Australia and the JamFactory where you can see artists working in action. Visit cultural institutions such as the Adelaide Botanic Gardens and the Adelaide Zoo. Watch a cricket or football match at Adelaide Oval.

Our campus

The College is located in the heart of the city, just a short five-minute walk to Adelaide University’s city campus. As a student, you will enjoy access to both the University’s iconic buildings and state-of-the-art facilities as well as the College’s modern learning environment.
