All applications will be assessed on an individual basis. For Pre-Master’s Program, English language requirements will depend on the master’s program and academic qualifications. For all other programs, other entry criteria may apply.

Foundation Mathematics - PM403MAT
This subject aims to equip students with a solid understanding of the fundamental mathematical concepts essential for postgraduate study. It focuses on applying mathematics to real-world problems, emphasising the practical use of linear and exponential models, consumer and financial arithmetic, and regression analysis. Through lectures, discussions, and regular quizzes and tests, students will explore and analyse mathematical theories and concepts. The subject is designed to illustrate the relevance of mathematics through its applications and to develop students' learning and reasoning skills. By completing a scaffolded summative portfolio assessment, students will acquire core mathematical knowledge, enhance their independent thinking, and critically analyse mathematical and scientific information.
Foundation Statistics - PM404MAT
This subject introduces students to essential quantitative skills required for postgraduate study. It covers fundamental principles of data collection and analysis, focusing on key statistical techniques. Students will explore topics such as sampling methods, data representation, measures of central tendency and dispersion, probability distributions, correlation, and regression. Additionally, the subject emphasizes practical applications of data analysis, demonstrating how these techniques are used to interpret and make decisions based on real-world data.
Academic English Fundamentals - PM401EAP
This subject is designed to help students from diverse backgrounds develop essential academic language skills for a postgraduate degree. Students will engage with both oral and written texts, learning to take effective notes, participate in discussions, and write summaries. The subject focuses on enhancing understanding and application of academic grammar and vocabulary, enabling students to paraphrase ideas accurately in both spoken and written formats. Interactive tutorials will foster confidence in using spoken English to clearly communicate ideas. Group tasks will build collaborative skills, preparing students for future group work in their postgraduate studies. Reflection tasks throughout the semester will guide students in evaluating their learning and responding thoughtfully to feedback, supporting their development as self-directed learners.

This subject is designed to help students from diverse backgrounds develop the essential communication skills needed for postgraduate study. Students will engage critically with various types of texts, learning to analyse and evaluate others' ideas and distinguish between opinion and evidence-based positions. Through interactive tutorials, students will build confidence in discussing ideas and clearly communicating their own perspectives. Additionally, this subject includes a group project to enhance collaborative communication and build productive relationships. By the end of the subject, students will effectively comprehend, analyse, and evaluate information, and communicate new knowledge across different formats within an academic setting.
Society and Culture - PM405SOC
This subject explores the dynamic evolution of modern society in response to advancements in business, technology, and government, as well as increasing human interconnectedness and environmental awareness. Students will examine how significant societal improvements, such as rising life expectancy, enhanced literacy, gender equality, and efforts towards cultural harmony, are driven by innovations in business and advancements in communication. The subject will also address key ethical and sustainability challenges facing contemporary society. By the end of the course, students will develop an understanding of the key ethical and sustainability challenges that confront modern society and consequently enhance their prospects for future employment.
Elective Courses
Additional compulsory courses apply for students in their second and third semesters.
