1. University-managed student accommodation (including purpose-built student accommodation) – this option is not available for U18’s.
The Village is operated by Adelaide University and is an apartment complex located in the city centre near China Town and the Adelaide Central Market. It’s a 10-minute bus ride or a 25-minute walk away from the university’s city campus. It’s exclusive to students, with on-site staff available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with a free shuttle service to and from the campus. You have the option of living alone or sharing an apartment with other students. There are common indoor and outdoor areas for socialising and preparing food.
Living in student accommodation is a great way to be part of a student community. Providers offer a range of fully furnished rooms, utilities, Wi-Fi connection and shared facilities (e.g. kitchen and dining area, lounge room) and staff are available for support.

2. Homestay
Homestay is a good option if you would like to live with a local family and need extra support. While you’re staying with your homestay family in their home, they will take care of you and make you feel comfortable. It’s also a great opportunity to practise your English language skills outside the classroom.
Most homestays are located within 45 minutes from the College and are on a direct bus, train or tram line. Our College uses the Australian Homestay Network (AHN) to manage all homestay placements. Find out how to apply and their fees.
If you are 18 years of age or older, you are required to stay with your homestay family for at least 4 weeks. If you are under 18, you will need to stay in your homestay for a minimum of 6 months or until you are 18 years old, whichever is the earlier date. All students requesting homestay are required to pay an accommodation placement fee.
3. Private rentals – this option is not available for U18’s.
Private rentals are residential properties available to rent, or individual bedrooms in houses offered as share accommodation. This option provides flexibility and independence, allowing you to choose a living arrangement that suits your lifestyle.
